OpenGtalk, formerly known as Ginsu Talk and gtalk, is a telnet chat software application designed for Linux. It allows people to login as a guest or registered user to communicate with each other using text messages in private or public channels. It also incorporates a local mail system and a bulletin board system for message posting.
A number of small gtalk systems exist. One of the larger ones is at phringe.org. The version running there is a bad spawn/development version of the first public release of gtalk (v1.6.8). The goal of this project is to rewrite and add many of the features that exist in that version into this public GPL version of gtalk, along with finishing porting over features from the OS/2 version.
Offical releases of opengtalk can be found here. For the most recent changes, please access this project using anonymous CVS.
